Dave Nickle

On Monday, October 19th the riding of Peterborough-Kawartha will have the chance to vote with their values and elect Dave Nickle as their Member of Parliament.

About Dave:

Dave Nickle is an experienced educator with a track-record of standing up for our community. As part of Tom Mulcair’s team, he will fight for hardworking, middle-class families—and fix the damage Stephen Harper has done.

Dave recently retired from teaching after 30 years—the last 21 of those working at Peterborough’s Thomas A. Stewart Secondary School. Throughout his career, Dave engaged with families from all walks of life. That experience deepened his understanding of the challenges facing families in Peterborough.

On and off the job, Dave has distinguished himself as a community leader. He is Chair of the Board of Directors of the Peterborough Community Legal Centre—where low-income residents can access free advice and representation. He is also an active member of the Peterborough Health Coalition, working to strengthen public health care.

Dave has also served as President of District 14 of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation and as an executive member of the Peterborough and District Labour Council. In both roles, he fought for the rights and priorities of hardworking families—and he’s ready to take that work to Parliament.

Dave and his wife Nancy have called Peterborough home for over 25 years. Together, they are proud parents to two grown children, Ryan and Kayla.
